In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An act exempting certain positions in the town of Shrewsbury from the civil service law.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no position in the town of Shrewsbury, including the school department but excluding police officers and firefighters below the rank of chief, shall be subject to chapter 31 of the General Laws.

              SECTION 2.  Nothing in this act shall impair the civil service status of a person holding a civil service position in the town of Shrewsbury on the effective date of this act.

              SECTION 3.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
