An Act amending section 3 of Chapter 62 of the Acts of 2011.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

                Whereas, on June 30, 2011 the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts enacted Chapter 62 of the Acts of 2011 and thereby authorized the City of Medford to utilize surplus funds from its Water Enterprise Account to assist it in meeting its operating expenses; and

                Whereas, in so doing the Legislature added to substance of the requested legislation by adding to it Section 3 which states:

                SECTION 3. The city of Medford shall reimburse the Water Enterprise Fund in the amount of $1,224,000.00 no later than June 30, 2021.

                and

                Whereas, the operation of said Section 3 tends to diminish the purpose of the legislation, which is to provide a method of budgetary assistance to the City of Medford in meeting its operating expenses;

                Now, therefore Be it hereby resolved that the Legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts enact this Home Rule Petition and thereby strike from Chapter 62 of the Acts of 2011 said Section 3 in its entirety.
