An Act Authorizing the city of Somerville to incur debt to maintain property leased, licensed, or otherwise under the control of the city pursuant to an agreement between the city and the Commonwealth.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.      Notwithstanding any contrary provision of the General Laws, as to buildings or other properties owned by the Commonwealth, the operation, management and maintenance of which has been or is hereafter granted to the City of Somerville pursuant to a license or other agreement, the City of Somerville is hereby authorized to incur debt for the purposes set forth in Section Seven of Chapter Forty-Four of the General Laws and within the limits of indebtedness and payable within the periods otherwise set forth therein, such that whenever the term "owned" is used in G. L. c. 44, § 7, the phrase, "leased, licensed, or otherwise under the control of the City pursuant to an agreement between the City and Commonwealth" is added after the word "owned.”

SECTION 2.        This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
