By Mr. Brownsberger, a petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 2223) of William N. Brownsberger (by vote of the town) for legislation to regulate certain town meeting notices in the town of Belmont.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act further regulating certain town meeting notices in the town of Belmont.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  The first paragraph of section 3 of chapter 302 of the acts of 1926, as amended by section 1 of chapter 18 of the acts of 2005, is hereby further amended by striking out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:-  The town clerk shall notify the town meeting members of the time and place at which a representative town meeting is to be held, such notice to be sent at least 7 days before the meeting by mail or by such other method of delivery as the town may specify in a by-law duly enacted by the town meeting.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
