An Act relative to phosphorus in fertilizers.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section1. Chapter 21 of the General Laws is hereby amended but inserting after section 63, the following section:-

Section 64. The department shall establish an incentive program for individual and commercial fertilizer users to refrain from using products with high levels of phosphorus.  They shall consult with agriculture organizations on best practices.  This program may include an education program on the negative effects phosphorus has on public water supplies.
