An Act to improve pedestrian safety on Park Drive.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding any general or special legislation to the contrary, the department of conservation and recreation shall conduct a study regarding the feasibility of installing a pedestrian crossing on park drive, in the city of Boston, between the intersection of park drive and medfield street, and the intersection of park drive and the riverway.
The department shall report to the general court the results of its study and its recommendations, if any, including, but not limited to, the number of pedestrians illegally crossing the street in said area, the number of vehicles that travel this portion of the roadway daily, the number of accidents and a summary of the facts in any accidents that have occurred on park drive between medfield street and the riverway during the past ten years, and proposed solutions to assist in pedestrian crossing in this area. The department shall file the same with the clerks of the senate and house of representatives, the joint committee on transportation, the joint committee on environment, natural resources and agriculture and the senate and house committees on ways and means no later than December 31, 2011.
