An Act relative to the rights of children adopted by unmarried persons.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 210 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition is hereby amended by inserting after Section 6E, the following section:-

                Section 6F. After an adjudication of adoption, in the event that the adoptive parents are not married to each other, in any dispute as may arise as to custody, visitation, support, education, maintenance and health insurance, the adoptive parent may seek relief under sections nine, ten, eleven, eighteen, nineteen and twenty of chapter two hundred and nine C provided however that the provisions of paragraph B of section 10 of chapter two hundred and nine C shall not apply to this section.
