By Mr. Keenan, a petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 803) of John F. Keenan and James J. Dwyer for legislation to further define convictions of offenses resulting in forfeiture of retirement rights.  The Judiciary.

An Act further defining convictions of offenses resulting in forfeiture of retirement rights.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1: Subsection (3A) of section 15 of chapter 32 of the general laws is hereby amended in line 42 of the 2008 Official Edition  by inserting after the words “section twenty-five of chapter two hundred and sixty-five” the following;-

or Section 1951 of Chapter 95 of Title 18 of the United States Code or other federal criminal statute

SECTION 2:  Section 25 of chapter 265 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following to the end of said section;-

and, in the case of any police officer or person having the powers of a police officer, or any officer, or employee of any licensing authority, shall be further punished by loss of retirement rights, as set forth in subsection (3A) of section 15 of chapter 32 of the general laws

SECTION 3:  Clause (d) section 2 of chapter 268A of the general laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Editioin, is hereby amended by adding the following to the end of said section;-

and shall be further punished by the loss of retirement rights, as set forth in subsection (3A) of section 15 of chapter 32 of the general laws
