An Act relative to electronic communication by sex offenders.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Paragraph (a) of section 178d of chapter 6 of the general laws is hereby amended by inserting after the word social security number the following:--  electronic messaging address, internet communication identifier.

SECTION 2.  Section 178c of chapter 6 of the general laws is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following:-- “Electronic messaging address”, any name that identifies an electronic post office box where electronic messages can be created, transmitted, and received.

“Internet communication identifier”, a name that identifies an individual who engages in a form of electronic communications that involves real-time correspondence between two or more users who are online simultaneously.
