An Act relative to the definition of autism in the childrens autism medicaid waiver.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 107 of the Acts of 2005 is hereby amended by striking out the following sentence in the second paragraph “Autism spectrum disorder includes the following disorders as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition (DSM-IV-TR, 2000): autistic disorder, Asperger's disorder, pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified, childhood disintegrative disorder, and Rett's disorder.”  and inserting in place thereof the following:- “The terms ‘autism’ or ‘autism spectrum disorder ‘shall have the same meaning as the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.”
