In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to preventing fraud in the Massachusetts EBT cash assistance program.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (D) of section 2 of chapter 18 of the General Laws, as most recently amended by chapter 161 of the acts of 2012, is hereby further amended by striking, at the end of subsection (e), the word "and".

SECTION 2. Subsection (D) of section 2 of chapter 18 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “section” in the second paragraph of subsection (f), the following:—

; and

(g) the immediate termination of benefits to any recipient, who has failed to notify the department of a change of address, and who the department has attempted to contact by mail, but whose mail communication has been returned to the department as undeliverable
