An Act relative to unmarried couples.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1: Chapter 207 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition,  is hereby amended by adding the following new section:—

Section 59.  For purposes of the inheritance of benefits, pension plans, social security or any other asset, an unmarried couple who live together with children or an unmarried couple without children and live together for no less than 10 years, shall be entitled to the others aforementioned benefits and assets upon the death of said man or woman.
