An Act relative to civil liability for protecting one's home.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 8A of chapter 278 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following paragraph:-

If a person using this defense is found not guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, said person shall not be liable in civil proceedings for the injury or death of the person unlawfully in said dwelling.
