SECTION 1. Chapter 130, as appearing General Laws is hereby amended adding the following new section :-
Section 103. No person shall take engage in shark-finning, defined as taking of a shark, removing the fin or fins (whether or not including the tail) of a shark, and returning the remained of the shark to the sea.
Whoever violates any provision of this section shall be punished, in addition to any punishment for violation of federal law, by imprisonment for sixty days or by a fine of not less than five hundred nor more than one thousand dollars, or by both such imprisonment and fine.
