An Act to promote pedestrian safety.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 17 of Chapter 84 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding a second paragraph as follows:

“A person shall not be liable for an injury or damage sustained upon a public way by reason of snow or ice thereon, if the person removed snow or ice from the public way in accordance with municipal ordinance or by-law.
