In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act updating the laws to protect women's health.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 12Q of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph: -

Except in an emergency requiring immediate action, no abortion may be performed under section twelve L or twelve M unless the written consent of the proper person has been delivered to the physician performing the abortion as set forth in section 12S. 

SECTION 2. Section 19 of chapter 272 of the General Laws is hereby repealed.

SECTION 3.  Section 20 of said chapter 272 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 4.  Section 21 of said chapter 272 is hereby repealed.

SECTION 5.  Section 21A of chapter 272 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out in lines 2, 4 and 8 the word “married”.
