An Act to require judicial consideration of lawful alien status for bail.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 58 of chapter 276 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out, in line 34, the word "and";

and further, section 58 of chapter 276, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 35, after the word, “conviction” the following words:-

“, and whether the person is a citizen or has been granted legal alien status in the United States.”
