An Act to increase mental health facilities for women in the Commonwealth.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 4 of chapter 11B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "seven", in line 26, the words:- (6) the department will ensure that secure beds for persons committed under Section 35 are available in applicable licensed facilities. 

SECTION 2. Section 6 of chapter 11B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "programs", in line 17, the words:- (5) the ratio between secure beds for patients committed under Section 35 and voluntary commitment beds. (6) the number of facilities exclusively for women.

SECTION 3. Section 6B of chapter 11B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "program;", in line 14, the words:- (3) the ability of the treatment program to receive individuals under Section 35 commitments; (4) the ability of the program to treat women;

SECTION 4. Section 6B of chapter 11B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting in place of the number "(3)", in line 20, and the number:- (5)
