An Act relative to mental health and substance abuse clinics.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 53G the following section:-

Section 53H.  Any entity seeking licensure or license renewal under section 51 as a clinic providing mental health services or substance abuse services shall be deemed to be in compliance with the conditions of licensure as a clinic under section 51 if it is accredited to provide services by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, the Council on Accreditation or any other national accrediting body that the department determines provides reasonable assurances that such conditions are met.
