An Act relative to footpaths commonly used by senior citizens.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 33 of chapter 82 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended, in line 2, by inserting after the word “ways.” the following words:- Municipalities shall not lay out footways consisting of uneven or non-uniform construction within 100 feet of the main entrance to any facility housing senior citizens or any facility used as a council on aging, or its equivalent. Municipalities shall not lay out footways consisting of uneven or non-uniform construction in the footpath between the handicapped parking and the handicapped accessible entrance to the facility. Existing footpaths are grandfathered in and need not be replaced by this section.
