An act to improve emergency medical services training.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 19 of Chapter 111C of the General Laws as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after clause (3), the following 3 clauses:-

(3a) falsify an attendance sheet for an instructional course, training, or refresher training. Any person who violates this clause shall immediately lose the certification and forfeit any increase in salary attached to the certification.

(3b) register or enroll in an instructional course, training, or refresher training that has not been properly certified, accredited or approved by the department. Any person who violates this clause shall immediately lose the certification and forfeit any increase in salary attached to the certification.

(3c)  willfully and knowingly fraudulently obtain certification, a license, or other designation under the emergency medical services system or willfully and knowingly assist another in fraudulently obtaining a certification, license, or other designation. A violation of this clause shall be punished by a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 1 year.
