In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to the safe transfer of individuals in emergency situations.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, a law enforcement officer, while in the performance of his duties, shall, in the case of a serious injury or death of an individual’s spouse, sister, brother, mother, father or child, transport or shall designate someone to fulfill his duty to transport such individual to a medical facility or hospital if such transport is requested.
