An Act pertaining to creditable service for veterans.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section XX. Section 46 of chapter 30 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after subsection 1B the following subsection:-

(1C) An employee with 7 years of creditable service who is a veteran, as defined in the forty third clause of section 7 of chapter 4, shall upon the employee's seventh anniversary date of hire be advanced to the maximum step in the employee's job group.

Section XX. An employee who, as of the effective date of this act, satisfies the requirements of subsection 1C of section 46 of chapter 30 of the General Laws shall immediately be advanced to the maximum step in the employee's job group.
