An Act reaffirming the spirit of volunteerism.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Chapter 7 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 6F the following section:-

Section 6G.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no executive agency shall permit a state employee, as defined by section 1 of chapter 268A, to serve as a volunteer to a corporation, formed for any one or more of the purposes mentioned in section 4 of chapter 180, during normal business hours; provided however, that such agency may permit an employee to volunteer during normal business hours if the employee has exhausted all accrued vacation time and personal days.
