SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, and in order to promote the public good, the State Retirement Board is hereby authorized and directed to retire Robert Emmet Fitzgerald, a former State Police Officer, who as a result of injuries sustained while in the performance of his duties as an undercover State Police narcotics officer, is incapacitated from further service as a State Trooper.

Roche. It will also be retroactive to that date and include health benefits.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
