An Act relative to local taxation.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 59 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 5M the following:-
Section 5N. No municipality or anyone acting on its behalf shall request state or federal tax forms. For the purposes of local tax exemptions, the taxpayer may provide the necessary numbers in writing, under the pains and penalties of perjury, to the municipality or its agent.
