By Mr. Kocot of Northampton, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 2844) of Peter V. Kocot and Stanley C. Rosenberg for legislation to authorize the Commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance to convey to the city of Northampton certain parcels of land in said city for use by the Northampton Rotary Club to construct a  public park.  State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.

An Act authorizing the conveyance or lease of a parcel of land in the city of Northampton for park, recreation or open space purposes.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance may sell, lease for a term up to 99 years, including all renewals and extensions, or otherwise grant, convey or transfer to the city of Northampton, for nominal consideration, those certain parcels of land located in said city located between the northwest corner of the intersection of King Street and Merrick Lane and the probate court sidewalk, containing approximately 0.014 acres, together with any buildings and structures thereon. The Northampton Rotary Club shall be responsible for all costs and expenses including, but not limited to, costs associated with any engineering, surveys, appraisals and deed preparation related to the conveyance authorized in this subsection as such costs may be determined by the commissioner of capital asset management and maintenance and shall work with the City to ensure future maintenance of the property.
