An Act relative to soliciting and rewarding suggestions from residents to reduce costs of government.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 1. Section 31A of chapter 7 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking in line 14 the words “officers and employees” and inserting in place thereof the following:-
“residents of the Commonwealth”.
Section 2. Section 31A of chapter 7 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 21, after the word “section” the following:-
“; provided, the amount of the award given to a contestant shall be equal to one percent of the expected reduction in cost to state government, but in no instance shall the award exceed ten thousand dollars”.
