An Act authorizing translators for learner's permit tests.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 8B of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
All non-English speaking applicants for a learner’s permit shall be entitled to have a translator on the premises before such applicant takes such learner’s permit test. The registrar shall place within all registry of motor vehicle locations signs stating that there are translators available in 48 different languages that and that such applicants may ask for assistance by a translator while taking such test.
