In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act giving a veteran bonus to regular soldiers having been on active duty in support of the Persian Gulf War.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.Chapter 115 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following section:-

(a) Whereas during the Persian Gulf war non National Guard, Air National Guard or Reservists did not receive a bonus unless awarded the Southwest Asia Service Medal and whereas the soldiers who did not receive a bonus deserve to be rewarded for their in-theater service in said war. That all regular soldiers who fought in the Persian Gulf War but did not receive a bonus shall receive a bonus equal to the amount that was awarded to National Guard, Air National Guard or Reservists in the same capacity.
