An Act requiring appropriation bills to include estimated amounts for the following fiscal year.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  The first paragraph of section 6D of chapter 29 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the first sentence the following sentence:- In addition, each such appropriation proposed by the governor or enacted by the general court shall include in numeric figures the estimated amount of that appropriation for the fiscal year following the fiscal year for which it is made, but that estimated amount is only for planning purposes and does not constitute an authorization to expend.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013.
