An Act making an appropriation for the fiscal year 2013 to provide for the funding to restore and repair the Granite Incline Compressor Building.

 

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to provide forthwith for the funding to restore and repair damage caused by Hurricane Sandy to the Granite Incline Compressor Building, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 139 of the acts of 2012 is hereby amended by adding the following item:

2800-XXXX  For a program to provide for the restoration and repair, as necessitated by damage sustained from Hurricane Sandy and recent acts of vandalism, of the historic Granite Incline Compressor Building located in the city of Quincy and owned by the department of conservation and recreation who previously received funds in the form of tipping fees as a result of filling the Quincy quarries to maintain said building ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………$800,000.
