An Act relative to county pension liability funding.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 11 of Chapter 64D of the General Laws is hereby amended in the first sentence of the second paragraph by striking out the words "in which its minimum obligation to fund from its own revenues in fiscal year 2009 the operation of the sheriff's office is insufficient in any fiscal year to satisfy the unfunded county pension liabilities and other benefit liabilities of retired employees of the sheriff's office" and inserting in place thereof the following:- "which had any current or previous unfunded pension liabilities and other benefit liabilities of retired employees of the sheriff's office as of August 6, 2009,” and said sentence is further amended by striking out the words "until the minimum obligation is sufficient or until such county has paid such unfunded pension liability" and inserting in place thereof the following:- "until such unfunded pension liability is paid".

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
