An Act authorizing increased fees for special details performed by public employees in the city of Melrose.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Section 53C of chapter 44 of the General Laws or any other special or general law to the contrary, the city of Melrose may impose a fee not to exceed 15 per cent of the cost to the city for services performed by its employees on off-duty work details which are related to the employee's regular employment or for special detail work performed by persons where the detail is not related to regular employment.

SECTION 2. The fee imposed under section 1 may be increased by an additional 15 per cent of the city's costs as described in said section 1 if paid later than 21 days after the initial fee becomes due to said city.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
