An Act relative to insurance proceeds for injured police and fire personnel in the town of Northborough.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 53 of chapter 44 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, insurance proceeds received by the town of Northborough or any officer or department thereof to compensate police officers and fire fighters injured in the line of duty may be made available by the town to the fire or police departments without specific appropriation as an offset for payments made to police officers and fire fighters pursuant to section 111F of chapter 41 of the General Laws.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
