By Representative McMurtry of Dedham and Senator Rush, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3517) of Paul McMurtry and Michael F. Rush (by vote of the town) that the town of Dedham be authorized to exempt the position of deputy police chief in said town from the civil service law.  Public Service.  [Local Approval Received.]

In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act exempting the position of deputy police chief in the town of Dedham from the civil service law.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the position of deputy police chief in the town of Dedham shall be exempt from chapter 31 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. Section 1 shall not impair the civil service status of the person holding the position of deputy police chief in the town of Dedham on the effective date of this act.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
