By Representative McMurtry of Dedham and Senator Rush, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3518) of Paul McMurtry and Michael F. Rush (by vote of the town) that the town of Dedham be authorized to appoint two alternate members of the conservation commission of said town.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

An Act relative to the membership of the conservation commission of the town of Dedham.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 8C of chapter 40 of the General Laws, the board of selectmen of the town of Dedham may appoint up to 2 alternate members of the conservation commission of the town for staggered terms not to exceed 3 years.

SECTION 2. The chair of the conservation commission may designate an alternate member to sit on the commission in the case of absence, inability to act or conflict of interest on the part of a member or, in the event of a vacancy on the commission, until the vacancy is filled by the board of selectmen. 

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
