An Act relative to the insurance contributions of certain elected officials in the town of Dartmouth.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

An Act relative to the insurance contributions of certain elected officials in the town of Dartmouth.

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 32B of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the following elected officials of the town of Dartmouth, however titled, as well as any newly elected position to which any of the following elected officials’ powers and duties are transferred in the future, shall not be eligible for participation in the town’s contributory health and life insurance benefits plan even if said elected official receives a stipend: (i) members of the board of assessors; (ii) members of the board of health; (iii) members of the board of public trustees; (iv) members of the parks and recreation board; (v) members of the select board; (vi) members of the planning board; (vii) members of the school committee; and (viii) the town moderator; provided, however, that such ineligibility shall not apply to any such official who began participating in said plan prior to the effective date of this act.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
