An Act authorizing the town of Winchester to continue employment of police chief Kenneth C. Albertelli.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

Section 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Kenneth C. Albertelli, chief of the police department of the town of Winchester may continue to serve in such position until June 30, 2016, until the date of his retirement, or until the date he is relieved of his duties by the town manager, in accordance with the town manager’s appointing authority and applicable Civil Service law, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of his office.  The Board of Selectmen may, at its own expense, require that Kenneth C. Albertelli be examined by an impartial physician designated by them to determine such capability. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Kenneth C. Albertelli under Chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to May 20, 2014, and upon retirement, he shall receive a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he retired on his date.

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
