An Act authorizing the reinstatement of Richard L. Cross as a reserve police officer in the town of Southwick.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, Richard L. Cross, a retired sergeant of the police department of the town of Southwick, may be reinstated as a reserve police officer until he reaches 70 years of age; provided however, that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of a reserve police officer. Richard L. Cross shall, at the town’s expense, be examined by an impartial physician designated by the town to determine his capability.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
