An Act to secure child safety in family child care systems.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 9 of chapter 15D of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out subsection (b) and inserting in place thereof the following subsection:-

(b) All family child care homes and all large family day care homes shall be subject to quarterly in-home checks by the department without notice. If found not in compliance with  criminal offender record information and department of children and families reporting as required by the department in 606 CMR 14, the family child care home or large family day care home shall be subject to suspension at the discretion of the department. If suspended, the department shall secure an alternative child care opportunity for the displaced children.
