An Act authorizing the town of Conway to continue the employment of Robert Baker and Ronald Hawkes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Robert Baker of the fire department of the town of Conway and Ronald Hawkes of fire and police department, may continue to serve in such positions until the date of their retirement or relieved of their duties by the town manager, whichever occurs first, if each is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of their respective office. The board of selectmen may, at its own expense, require that Robert Baker or Ronald Hawkes be examined by an impartial physician designated by them to determine such capability. No further deductions shall be made from the regular compensation of Robert Baker under chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service performed subsequent to his reaching the age of 65 or for Ronald Hawkes subsequent to his reaching the age of 65, in connection with their service to the town for retirement or pension purposes.
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
