An Act extending the authority of the traffic commission in the city of Medford to include public off-street parking areas.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions any general or special law to the contrary, the provisions of Section 3 of Chapter 421 of the Acts of 1958 is hereby amended by deleting the words “not exceeding fifty dollars” from the first sentence of Section 3 and by the addition of the following sentence at the end of said Section 3.:
In addition to the power and authority granted to the Traffic Commission in the Chapter, the Traffic Commission shall have exclusive authority, except as otherwise herein provided, to adopt, amend, alter and repeal rules and regulations, not inconsistent with general law as modified by this act, relative to the parking of any vehicle in all public off-street parking areas in the city, and to the movement, stopping or standing of any vehicles therein, and the exclusion of vehicles from any public off street parking areas under the control of the city, including enacting rules and regulations pertaining to vehicles in public off-street parking areas and may prescribe penalties for the violation of any rule or regulation adopted hereunder.
SECTION 2: This Act shall take full effect upon its passage.
