Section1: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Holyoke Retirement Board shall issue a killed in the line of duty death benefit to the family of Holyoke Police Officer David Zolendziewski, under Section 100A of Chapter 32 of the General Laws. Officer Zolendziewski died on February 11, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on duty on December 28, 2009. The Holyoke Retirement Board shall administer said benefit according to terms and conditions established for benefits provided under said Section 100A of said Chapter 32.
Section 2: Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Holyoke Retirement Board shall issue a killed in the line of duty pension benefit to the surviving spouse of Holyoke Police Officer David Zolendziewski under Section 100 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws. Officer Zolendziewski died on February 11, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while on duty on December 28, 2009. The Holyoke Retirement Board shall administer said benefit according to terms and conditions established for benefits provided under said Section 100 of said Chapter 32.
SECTION 3: The General Court may make clerical or editorial changes of form only to the bill, unless the Mayor and City Council approve amendments before enactment by the General Court. The Mayor and City Council are hereby authorized to approve amendments which shall be within the scope of the general public objectives of this petition.
SECTION 4: This act shall take effect upon its passage.
