Lovely (by vote of the town) that the town of Topsfield be authorized to issue eight additional licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises. An Act relative to the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises in the town of Topsfield.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, the licensing authority of the town of Topsfield may grant up to 8 additional licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises, pursuant to section 12 of said chapter 138, to entities licensed as a common victualler pursuant to chapter 140 of the General Laws and operating as a conference and event facility or full-service restaurant, as defined in the town of Topsfield zoning by-laws. The licenses shall be subject to all of said chapter 138, except section 17. No holder of a license for the sale of alcoholic beverages pursuant to any special or general law shall be eligible to hold a license pursuant to this act.
SECTION 3. A license granted under this act, if revoked or no longer in use, shall be returned physically, with all of the legal rights and privileges pertaining thereto, to the licensing authority.
SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
