In the Year Two Thousand Fourteen

An Act relative to the scheduling of high school athletic contests.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, the authorized representatives of school committees active in the selection, organization, scheduling and arranging of regular season and post-regular season interscholastic competitions or events, including, but not limited to, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association, shall not schedule any competitions or events prior to 2:00 p.m. on the days on which either the SAT or ACT college entrance examinations are scheduled. 

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
