An Act authorizing the city of Chicopee to change the use of the Chicopee Falls Branch Public Library.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 645 of the acts of 1950 is hereby amended by striking out sections 1 and 2 and inserting in place thereof the following sections:-
Section 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Chicopee, acting by and through its city council and mayor, may change the use of all or a portion of the Chicopee Falls Branch Public Library from use as said public library to use as a public school facility for the operation of public school administrative offices and related school purposes. The Chicopee Falls Branch Public Library is located at 216 Broadway Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, in Lincoln Grove park and playground which is held by the city of Chicopee for public park purposes by virtue of the conveyance to the city of Chicopee from the Chicopee Manufacturing Corporation by instrument dated April 22, 1931, and recorded in the Hampden County Registry of Deeds in Book 1482, Page 452, and bounded and described as follows: easterly by Broadway, one hundred and forty-six and 37/100 feet; northeasterly by Pine street, sixty-five and 70/100 feet; northwesterly by land now or formerly of Frank O. Cook, one hundred and twenty-five and 98/100 feet; and southwesterly by land now or formerly of the city of Chicopee, one hundred and sixty-three and 47/100 feet.
Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
