An Act authorizing the town of Hudson to grant additional licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages and wine and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, the licensing authority of the town of Hudson may grant 4 additional licenses for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises and 1 additional license for the sale of wines and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises pursuant to section 12 of said chapter 138. The licenses shall be subject to all of said chapter 138, except said section 17.

(b) A license granted pursuant to this act shall not be transferrable to any other person, corporation or organization for a period of 3 years from the date of issuance or 3 years from the effective date of this act, whichever is later.  Any transfer in violation of this section shall render said license null and void.

(c) If a license  granted pursuant to this act is cancelled, revoked or no longer in use, the license shall be returned  physically, with all of the legal rights, privileges and restrictions pertaining thereto, to the licensing authority. The licensing authority may then grant that license to a new applicant who meets the criteria set forth in this act, subject to compliance with the rules and regulations of the board of selectmen, as licensing authority.

SECTION  2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
