An Act relative to equity in education funding.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 70 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:
Any municipality with a combined effort yield of 100 per cent or greater of the fiscal year 2014 foundation budget and each ensuing year, shall have in fiscal year 2014 and in each ensuing year a target maximum local contribution of no more than 82.5 per cent of its foundation budget.
Any municipality with a combined effort yield less than 100 per cent of the fiscal year 2014 foundation budget and each ensuing year, shall have in fiscal year 2014 and in each ensuing year a target maximum local contribution of no more than 80 per cent of its foundation budget.
