In the Year Two Thousand Thirteen

An Act relative to recognizing cheerleading as a sport.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2010 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:-
Section 37P. It is hereby declared to be the policy of the commonwealth to encourage all school committees to recognize cheerleading as an interscholastic sport and to adopt policies that promote equal opportunities and funding for said sport.
